Redesigning a company logo for an old colleague.

Well, this was more of a personal project that I had. My former boss left the company for another opportunity but she kept in touch with me afterwards. She showed me that the logo for the new place that she worked at needed some updating, and I completely agreed!

This was the logo that they had and the company was called dapper toast. Is it just me or does this logo have a lot of similarities to the Planters Peanut?

My former boss let me know that the company was not looking to rebrand but I took the logo and rebranded it anyway. I figured that it would make for a really fun portfolio piece! Here are the options that I came up with:
